BOONE COUNTY, WV LOOTPRESS) – On the date in question, this officer was dispatched to Ridgeview Hollow Road in reference to a domestic call.
Upon arrival, the officer located the victim, who stated that she and her boyfriend, the defendant James Coffey, had gotten into an argument at their home in Ridgeview, West Virginia. The victim reported that Mr. Coffey had grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the face.
The victim then got her 3-year-old child and got into a vehicle, at which point Mr. Coffey allegedly retrieved a hammer and began beating on the vehicle’s windshield. The victim went to a nearby house to see if her grandmother was home, but she was not. The victim then returned to the residence, got her 5-month-old child, and got back into the vehicle. Mr. Coffey then got on the hood of the vehicle and started kicking the windshield. The victim also stated that Mr. Coffey threw a microwave at the windshield, completely damaging it.
This officer then located Mr. Coffey at a house on Ridgeview Hollow Road and, upon searching him after the arrest, found five large bags of individually packaged marijuana on his person. This complaint is based on this officer’s investigation, and the reported crimes occurred in Boone County, West Virginia.
