POINT PLEASANT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Marshall Health has taken a significant step in providing accessible gastroenterology care to patients in Mason County.
Collaborating with Rivers Health, formerly known as Pleasant Valley Hospital and a member of the esteemed Mountain Health Network, Marshall Health has established a new center for gastroenterological (GI) care located at 2520 Valley Drive in Point Pleasant.

Conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatitis, ulcerative colitis, gallstones, Crohn’s disease, and celiac disease will be addressed by the expert gastroenterologists at the facility.
Patients can expect to receive both inpatient and outpatient care, including colonoscopies and other essential endoscopic procedures.
Heading the gastroenterology team is Dr. Ahmed Sherif, a highly experienced and board-certified specialist in the field. Dr. Sherif also holds the prestigious position of Chief of Gastroenterology and Associate Professor at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
