HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Marshall Health Network has announced Scott Raynes as the organization’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.
A native of the Mountain State, Raynes brings with him more than 35 years of experience in the executive health care field. He will join Marshall Health Network from Southeast Georgia Health System in the Brunswick area, where he has served as President and CEO since 2022.
Raynes will assume the role of President and CEO for Marshall Health Network early next year, according to MHN. He will take on the position following the announcement of Founding Marshall Health Network President, Kevin Yingling, MD, RPh, last year that he would be retiring from the role.
Marshall Health Network Board Chair and head of the President/CEO selection committee, David Fox spoke enthusiastically of Raynes’ selection for the position, pointing out the incoming President/CEO’s demonstrable commitment to health care and community as positive attributes.
“We are pleased to announce Scott Raynes as the next CEO of Marshall Health Network,” said Fox. “We believe Scott has the vision, experience and compassion to lead MHN as an academic health system for the future. His deep commitment to the people of our state and his passion for improving health care make him the ideal leader for MHN’s important next chapter.”
Fox also noted that departing CEO, Dr. Yingling intends to continue working with the Marshall Health Network through the spring months to ensure an effective and smooth transition.
“On behalf of the MHN board, we are deeply appreciative to Dr. Yingling for his leadership over the past few years. The system has seen significant growth under his steady guidance including the formation of Marshall Health Network academic health system; addition of Rivers Health; partnership with Logan Regional Medical Center; construction and opening of the Shell Medical Pavilion; expanded pediatric and cardiovascular facilities; development of the rural and surgical residency programs; numerous national quality and service awards; and enhanced employee and physician engagement,” said Fox.
“Dr. Yingling has been the consummate servant leader and champion for patients and communities of our region. We are encouraged that he has agreed to remain with MHN through next spring and support continuity as Scott onboards with MHN.“
