HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Marshall University has expanded its Marshall For All initiative with a new program, Marshall For All: Tuition-Free WV, which allows eligible first-time freshmen from West Virginia to attend college without paying tuition.
The program, which is already in effect, covers 100% of tuition and mandatory university fees for incoming students whose families earn $65,000 or less per year.
No loans are required under this initiative, reflecting the university’s commitment to affordability and accessibility.
“We believe that every student deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their financial background,” said Brad D. Smith, president of Marshall University. “With this expansion, we’re eliminating tuition as a barrier for even more students, helping them build a future of success—without the weight of student loan debt.”
While the program covers tuition and fees, students will still need to cover costs for housing, meals, books, and other personal expenses.
However, additional scholarships and grants are available to help offset these costs.
“This is a game-changer for students across West Virginia,” said Dr. Jerry Ross, Marshall’s chief enrollment officer. “We understand that affording college is a major concern for many families, and this program is another way we’re working to make a Marshall education more accessible.”
