WELCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The McDowell County Commission has announced the passing of a long-time public servant and magistrate.
According to the McDowell County Commission, Danny Mitchell, a long-time public servant in McDowell County, passed away yesterday.
Mitchell started his career in the 1980s as a deputy and served as Sheriff from January 1, 2005, to January 31, 2012.
After his tenure as Sheriff, he continued to serve as a magistrate until his passing, recently being reelected for another term.
The McDowell County Commission extended condolences to his family, co-workers, and friends.
