WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A McDowell County man has been convicted on charges related to soliciting a minor in Wyoming County.
Derek Laxton announced that Terry Aaron Foster, 30, of Cucumber, was convicted on July 2 of soliciting a minor via computer and third-degree sexual abuse.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Karen Hatfield, who will also represent the state during Foster’s sentencing hearing.
The conviction stems from an investigation conducted by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said Sgt. Tyler Sizemore, one of two crimes against children investigators assigned to the Wyoming-McDowell Crimes Against Children Task Force, determined that Foster, who was 29 at the time of the offense, used his cellphone to solicit a minor in an attempt to engage in a sexual relationship.
Foster is scheduled to be sentenced in the Circuit Court of Wyoming County on Oct. 1, 2026, at 2 p.m.
