IAEGER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Iaeger Town Council has officially adopted a proclamation declaring the town a “Strong Second Amendment Sanctuary,” affirming its commitment to protect residents’ rights to keep and bear arms.
Approved on November 17, 2025, the proclamation cites both the U.S. Constitution and the West Virginia Constitution, stating that the right to bear arms is a natural and fundamental liberty.
Town officials say any government action that restricts or weakens those rights poses a threat to public safety and constitutional freedoms.
The proclamation outlines five key points:
- Iaeger is formally declared a Second Amendment Sanctuary Town.
- The town pledges unwavering support for law-abiding citizens’ rights to own, carry, purchase, and use firearms and related accessories.
- The council opposes any future laws or directives—at any government level—that it considers an infringement on gun rights.
- Town resources will not be used to enforce measures deemed unconstitutional by the council.
- Officials state the town’s stance is firm and enduring, emphasizing that gun rights should not be weakened or surrendered.
The proclamation was signed by the mayor, the town recorder, and members of the Iaeger Town Council.
