MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Mercer County WV Indivisible will host a public Town Hall on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Basic Sciences Building Auditorium at Bluefield State University in Bluefield.
The event aims to foster open, respectful dialogue among citizens of all political affiliations about key federal and state policy issues. Organizers say the goal is to provide a space where residents can ask questions, share concerns, and listen to diverse perspectives in a civil and constructive environment.
Mercer County WV Indivisible is a nonpartisan grassroots group committed to encouraging civic engagement and promoting government transparency. The Town Hall is part of the group’s ongoing effort to educate the public on how legislation and policy decisions impact everyday lives.
Local, state, and federal elected officials have been invited to attend. A panel of experts will address a range of pressing topics, including Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, veterans’ and miners’ programs, food insecurity, flooding and clean water, environmental issues, public education, and immigration enforcement.
All community members, regardless of political affiliation, are encouraged to attend, speak, and listen.
