MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Mercer County man is facing multiple charges after police say he forced his way into a residence, damaged property, and later caused a disturbance at a local hospital.
According to a criminal complaint, Shannon Nicolas Fuda was arrested June 9 following an incident at a residence on Harrison Street in Princeton.
Police were dispatched to the home around 1:40 a.m. in response to a reported burglary. According to the complaint, Fuda allegedly forced his way into the residence and pushed the occupant to the ground. Officers said Fuda was reportedly covered in blood and appeared confused.
The complaint states that Fuda left behind a pair of Crocs and a cellphone at the residence. Investigators also allege he damaged the radio antenna on a 2008 Chrysler vehicle parked at the property, causing an estimated $100 in damage.
Officers later located Fuda near the intersection of Bee Street and Mercer Street. According to the complaint, he was slurring his words and appeared impaired.
He was taken into custody and transported to the residence to retrieve his belongings before being taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
While at the hospital, police allege Fuda repeatedly refused requests to exit the patrol vehicle and acted in a loud and boisterous manner in front of hospital staff and patients.
Officers reportedly assisted him into the hospital for treatment. After receiving medical clearance, Fuda was transported to the Princeton Police Department for processing and later taken to the Southern Regional Jail.
Court documents show Fuda has been charged with burglary, battery, disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer, and destruction of property.
