MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)– Police arrested a Mercer County man who threatened to kill his mother and the mother of his children.
On June 26, officers went to Davidson Street in Bluefield, WV, to get a statement from the complainant. She told police that her son, Tony Greene, kept her up in the middle of the night by slamming doors and windows. Greene would also yell at people who weren’t at the residence.
As the victim prepared for work, Greene told her, “he was the messiah and was going to beat her to death.” When she came back to the residence, Greene began mumbling incoherent words and acting strange. The victim decided to call the mother of his children and ask about his erratic behavior.
“When Mr. Greene asked who she was speaking with, the victim, she stated she was talking to her husband, out of fear she would anger Mr. Greene. Mr. Greene then took the phone out of her hands,” stated the report.
The victim then left the residence and walked to a relative’s house. She told police she filed a mental hygiene petition around 30 days ago. An officer called to confirm but was told no such petition was on file. The victim told police she was hesitant about pressing criminal charges because of arson threats Greene made.
After the victim’s statement, authorities went to her residence to retrieve the victim’s phone from Greene.
Upon their arrival, loud music began to play through speakers. The officers tried to make contact with Greene but were unsuccessful. They found an unlocked phone lying on the table on the porch and called the last number, who was the mother of Greene’s children, Ms. Powell. The authorities returned the phone to the complainant.
Police also gathered a statement from Powell. She told police Greene made threats when she visited the residence to pick up their children on June 26.
“When she returned to pick them up, she asked what he and the children have been doing all day. Mr. Greene replied they had been killing people,” stated the report.
Powell asked Greene if he could check the oil in her car, and he started acting strange. The statement reported Greene began to mumble incoherent words. She then stated she heard Greene say that he would kill her, himself, and everybody. After he was done, she took her kids and left the residence. Greene called Powell around 8:30 pm to ask for cigarettes, she declined, and Greene told her he would get a gun and “blow her brains out.”
Greene is currently charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of harassment.
