MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)– Authorities responded to an altercation in Princeton between a couple.
The victim spoke to the police while EMS members were treating her. She told police that her husband, John Sparks pushed her after an altercation. The officer could see visible abrasions to her forearm and wrist. After speaking with her, the officer talked to Sparks.
Sparks told the officer he was getting ready for work and didn’t know what was going on. He said he came outside to see why the ambulance was there.
The victim also told officers the altercation stemmed from Sparks thinking she was cheating on him.
“The victim advised that the altercation became loud and aggressive. She then stated that she turned to leave the residence, and Sparks pushed her from behind, causing her to fall,” stated the report.
The victim called the ambulance for treatment. The ambulance took her to Princeton Community Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Police arrested Sparks and transported him to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
Sparks is charged with domestic battery.
