Independence Middle Schools boys basketball opened the season with a 71-36 win over Beckley-Stratton at Coal City.
Iziah Gordon paced the Patriots with 27 points, while K.J. Viars added 13 points and Konnor James had 10.
Tristan Lykins and Jacob Fleming had six points each.
C. Wilson led the Bulldogs with 12 points and Z. Jones added nine.

Princeton – Park outscored Princeton 13-3 in the second quarter en route to a 31-19 win Wednesday.
Emma Meadows led all scorers with 19 points, while Averie Ellis also scored in double figures with 10 points for the Roadrunners.
S. Flack led the Tigers with 6 points and M. Dewitt had five.
