The Patriots remained undefeated Thursday night with a 49-46 road win over Shady Spring.
Iziah Gordon led all scorers with 21 for Independence, while K.J. Viars added 11.
Tristan Lykins scored seven points, followed by Konnor James with six and Jacob Fleming chipped in four points.
Jace Lilly had 17 points for the Tigers, while Jaylen Hall scored 13 and Jace Bailey finished with nine. Mason Adams had four and Kyle Malay scored three.

Peterstown 28, Mountain View 15
The Lady Pirates moved to 11-0 with a 28-15 win over Mountain View in a clash between future James Monroe Mavericks.
Lydia Dunlap led Peterstown with 18 points, while Annsley Young scored six points and Rylie Dillon had four.
Kaylee Spinks and Reagan Bostic scored four points each for Mountain View, while Grayson Johnson had three and Chylin Eggleston scored two.
Oak Hill 32, Fayetteville 20
Avery Legg led all scorers with 11 points and Brynlee Greer added 10 points to lead Oak Hill past Fayetteville, 32-20.Â
MaKynlee Lewis added four points, 5 steals, and 11 rebounds, while Peyton Aicher had 3 points for Oak Hill.Â
Kinslee Hildebrand scored eight points for Fayetteville followed by Lilly Harbosky with seven points and Eden Skaggs had five points.Â
Greater Beckley Christian 47, Oceana 23
Greater Beckley picked up win No. 8 Thursday night with a 47-23 win over Oceana led by Hollee Harper with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Leavie Lilly added 10 points and four steals for the Crusaders and Sophie Jones scored eight. Brynlee Coleman added five points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Paisley Morgan also netted five points and had seven rebounds.
Alyssa Coleman had six steals, six assists and four points. K.K. Stewart scored two points.
Khloe Miller scored eight points for Oceana and Jayla Hilton had six.
Shady Spring 41, Independence 27
Kendal Wickline dropped in 16 points and Liz Rose scored eight to lead Shady Spring past Independence 41-27 Thursday night.
Victoria Glende added six points for the Tigers, while Josie Farrish scored five, Callie Olson had four and Resa Bortell had two.
Jordyn Wood led the Patriots with 10 points and Chloe Cunningham scored eight. Farley had four, while Hambrick scored three and Kiblinger two.
