DANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A minor train derailment early Monday morning has closed both railroad crossings in the Town of Danville, according to the Danville Volunteer Fire Department.
The derailment occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. CSX crews are on scene working to correct the problem and get the train back on the tracks.
Officials said the railroad crossings at Fourth Street near Byrnside’s Hardware and Third Street near Marathon are expected to remain closed for the majority of the day Monday.
Motorists are being asked to use the bypass and U.S. Route 119 to reach the opposite side of the railroad tracks.
