MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Monongalia County Schools will be closed for students on Friday.
According to Monongalia County Schools, all schools in the county will be closed on Friday, August 30, due to expected traffic congestion and potential delays that could impact bus services due to the WVU vs Penn State football game.
The decision was made in consultation with MECCA 911 and local law enforcement to prioritize student safety.
The WVU Football home opener set for Saturday at noon against Penn State is sold out.
Additionally, schools and offices will also be closed on Monday, September 2, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
