MULLENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A mother is charged with child endangerment after police discover drugs.
According to police, an officer was performing a routine patrol along Rt. 16 when he noticed a silver Ford Escape with a piece of cardboard in place of the tag. During the traffic stop, the officer said that Reginia Sizemore was mumbling, very shaky, jerking, and had a high speech rate. When asked if the suspect had used any drugs, she responded and said she had used meth the other night.
Several field sobriety tests were conducted, which she failed. The officer found a cut straw, burnt aluminum foil, and a torch lighter in the side compartment of the door. As the search continued, a heroin residue was found, digital scales, and 2,529 dollars in cash. The officer also found several containers of what appeared to be meth, heroin, Xanax, and gabapentin.
The officer says a child was in the back seat. Sizemore was charged with four counts of a controlled substance, DUI, and child endangerment. She is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 50,000 dollar bond.
