CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Patrick Morrisey has appointed Mount Hope Mayor Mike Kessinger to the West Virginia Parole Board, recognizing his years of public service and business leadership.
Kessinger has served as mayor of Mount Hope since 2015 and is well known in the region for his efforts to revitalize the town and support economic development.

In addition to his public service, he has successfully operated several businesses in both the energy and hospitality industries, including ‘The Table’ restaurant in downtown.
“Michael Kessinger has served as the Mayor of Mount Hope since 2015. He has owned and operated several successful businesses in the energy sector and most recently in the hospitality industry,” a press release from the governor’s office stated.
“He was born and raised in West Virginia and has dedicated his life to giving back to The Mountain State by raising his family, creating jobs, and serving as Mayor of his hometown.”
Kessinger’s appointment was part of a larger round of statewide selections, which included positions on the WVU Board of Governors, the Healthcare Authority, and the Board of Medicine.
The West Virginia Parole Board plays a key role in determining the supervised release of inmates from state correctional facilities.
