FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Police are investigating two separate burglaries in Mount Hope, both linked to the same suspect, Samuel “Sambo” Dooley.
The first incident occurred on March 21, 2025, around 1 p.m., when Chief S.M. Jasper responded to 417 Montana Street for a reported break-in. Upon arrival, he found the front door kicked in and damaged.
Charles Eller of Remax Realty, who manages the property, stated the house had been secured with a padlock, but his contractors arrived at 11 a.m. and discovered the broken door and an extension cord running from a window to 419 Montana Street.
Days later, on March 25 at 5:30 p.m., Chief Jasper responded to another burglary at 113 Madison Street. Resident Lesley Shrout reported that Dooley had broken in using a butter knife and stolen $30 in rolled quarters.
A witness later gave a statement confirming her presence during both incidents. She stated that Dooley forced entry into the Montana Street residence to access power and later admitted to taking the quarters from the Madison Street home.
Authorities are continuing their investigation.
