MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The city of Mount Hope will honor NFL great Lonnie (Sam) Warwick with a special celebration of life on Saturday, November 16.
The events will begin with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Hope Baptist Temple, where friends, family, and community members will gather to reflect on Mr. Warwick’s life and lasting legacy.
Following the service, a community celebration will take place at the Lonnie Warwick Mount Hope Municipal Stadium starting at 1:00 p.m.
The public is invited to attend both events at no cost.
The celebration will feature live music and local vendors, with all proceeds raised from vendor sales benefiting the revitalization of the stadium named in Warwick’s honor.
The city encourages everyone to attend.
