CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia endorsed a settlement agreement Wednesday to provide an additional $5.2 million to Mountaineer Gas Co. for pipeline replacement and other infrastructure upgrades.
The agreement negotiated among the parties involved the company’s infrastructure and replacement expansion program (IREP). The company asked for the increase on July 31.
The rates are effective January 1, 2026.
The settlement, excluding the PSC Consumer Advocate Division, was agreed to on November 13. An evidentiary hearing took place the next day. The Commission received four letters of protest.
The average monthly customer will see an increase of $1.55 in rates, or 1.93 percent more.
Mountaineer proposed in this case to accelerate its original plan to replace aged pipes and other infrastructure.
