BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – New River Community and Technical College is expanding support services for students by partnering with BetterMynd, an online therapy platform. The collaboration provides New River CTC students with access to free, confidential counseling sessions from licensed mental health professionals.
With limited in-person counseling options, the new partnership ensures students can receive support wherever they are using a laptop, smartphone or tablet during the day, evening or weekends. Each 50-minute session is private, secure and tailored to student needs.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to student success both in and out of the classroom,” said Dr. Bonny Copenhaver, president of New River CTC. “Mental health is critical to academic achievement, and we are proud to offer this new resource to make counseling more accessible for our students.”
BetterMynd works exclusively with colleges and universities, connecting students to a diverse network of licensed counselors nationwide. The program supplements New River CTC’s existing student support services by removing barriers of location and scheduling.
