BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The New River Jazz Band will be conducting a special holiday-themed performance in the coming weeks at the Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre in Beckley.
At 1:00pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024, the New River Jazz Band will be performing jolly, jazzy takes on beloved holiday classics immediately following the Beckley Christmas Parade, which is set to be held on Saturday beginning at 11:00am.
The performance will run for one hour and will offer unique takes on Christmas classics such as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Silent Night,” “We Three Kings,” and “The First Noel.” Also featured will be swinging, big band-style medley interpretations of classic carols.
Those wishing to attend the performance may do so at no cost, through donations are highly encouraged to assist in the coverage of expenses for volunteer band participants including those for equipment and sheet music.
