BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Rehabilitation work is underway on the New River Park Loop Trail in Beckley, prompting a temporary closure of the trail.
The City of Beckley announced that the trail will be closed for the next couple of weeks while crews complete improvements.
City officials said the project is intended to make the trail safer, more sustainable and more enjoyable for residents and visitors. The work is part of an investment in New River Park and its outdoor recreational facilities.
The city also thanked the Beckley Area Foundation for providing support for the project, saying the organization’s investment helped make the trail improvements possible.
Officials acknowledged that the temporary closure may inconvenience park visitors but said the work is expected to provide lasting improvements to the trail.
The city thanked residents for their patience during the rehabilitation work and said the trail will reopen once the improvements are completed.
