NITRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An argument centered around a man’s sexual performance lands him in jail.
On Thursday, August 15th, 2024, at around 8:03 PM, a Nitro Police officer was sent to a domestic disturbance at 40th Street in Nitro, Putnam County, West Virginia. Metro 911 Communications reported a male and female were involved in a fight, during which the female accused the male of hitting her. The officer arrived at the location shortly after receiving the call.
Upon knocking at the door, the officer saw a female in the kitchen who opened it and asked if she could leave. Suddenly, a male appeared behind her, shouting that he wanted her out. The officer asked the female to wait outside while he spoke to the male, who introduced himself as Gregory Lester. Lester explained that their argument started because he was unable to perform sexually, which led to Hurley attempting to smoke a cigarette. He claimed that when he asked her to leave, the lit cigarette accidentally burned him on the wrist, prompting the female to accuse him of hitting her. Lester denied hitting the victim, asserting instead that she hit him in the face. When police inquired why she would do this, he could not provide a clear answer. Police observed redness on the right side of his neck and a scratch on the right side of his nose, which appeared defensive.
Next, the officer spoke with the victim outside. The officer noticed a large red mark above her right cheekbone. Before the officer could ask about it, she explained that her argument with Lester centered on his sexual performance. She mentioned wanting to leave after their disagreement and lighting a cigarette. When she reached for a lighter, she stated that Lester got angry and slapped her in the same area where the redness was visible. After he struck her, she retaliated by hitting him. Once the altercation ended, she called 911.
Police arrested Lester for Domestic Battery and took him to the Nitro Police Department for processing. Court records revealed that he has faced three previous Domestic Battery convictions within the last decade. On August 19th, 2014, Lester pleaded guilty to Domestic Battery in Wyoming County Magistrate Court (Case #14-M55M-00447). He pleaded guilty again on September 14th, 2016 (Case #16-M55M-00957), and once more on March 13th, 2018 (Case #18-M55M-00127).
As a result, Gregory Lester is being charged with Domestic Battery – Third Offense.
