NITRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Class AAA No. 5 Nitro Wildcats closed out their regular season with a strong performance Friday night, defeating the No. 8 Greenbrier East Spartans 23-6 at home.
Nitro’s defense held firm throughout the game, limiting Greenbrier East’s scoring opportunities while the Wildcats’ offense capitalized on key drives to secure the win.
The victory pushed Nitro to 9-1 on the season, cementing their spot among the top Class AAA teams heading into the postseason.
Greenbrier East managed a late score but couldn’t overcome Nitro’s balanced attack.
The Spartans finish the regular season at 6-4 and will now look ahead to playoff action next week.
