OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Oak Hill native Anthony Treadway was officially sworn in as the city’s new city manager Monday evening, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the city’s leadership.
Treadway, who was born and raised in Oak Hill, previously served as a project delivery manager for West Virginia American Water before accepting the city manager position.
In addition to his professional experience, Treadway has been involved in community service, serving as a volunteer event coordinator for Terri’s Tribute since January 2010. The charitable initiative supports breast cancer awareness and fundraising efforts benefiting cancer patients throughout West Virginia.
Treadway took the oath of office during Monday evening’s Oak Hill City Council meeting, administered by Fayette County Circuit Judge W.E. Sam Fox II. Family members and friends were in attendance for the ceremony.
Following his swearing-in, Treadway addressed City Council members and residents, expressing his appreciation for the opportunity and emphasizing his personal connection to the community.
“I’m very grateful, I told you guys before, I take very seriously the job, my duties and expectations,” Treadway said.
“I’m from Oak Hill, this is my town, it’s where I grew up, it’s where I’m raising my kids, it’s where they’re going to grow up.”
Treadway also acknowledged his family, including his parents, who attended the meeting, and spoke about the significance of serving the community he has called home throughout his life.
“My parents are here tonight. This means a lot more to me probably than some because it’s where I’m from, it’s my community, it’s my people.”
He also pledged to work diligently on behalf of city employees and residents.
“I want to work hard for [the city employees] I want to work very hard for the folks of Oak Hill, and I think we got great days ahead of us.”
Treadway succeeds former City Manager Cris Meadows, who resigned from the position on March 19, 2026.
Oak Hill GIS Coordinator Tyler Bragg had served as interim city manager following Meadows’ departure.
