OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man faces criminal charges after attacking a 6-year-old girl during a meal.
According to Wyoming County Magistrate Court documents, on Friday, March 22, 2024, law enforcement was dispatched to the location of the T-Mobile store in Oceana.
Upon arrival at the establishment, a female stated that she and her children had been at their Oceana residence having dinner when the female’s live-in boyfriend, identified as Jarod Michael Kennedy, became angry at one of the children – a six-year-old female – for rocking back in her chair at the dinner table.
As a result, Kennedy is said to have jumped up from the table, grabbed the juvenile, and struck her in the belly twice. The female advised that at this point she grabbed her children and left the residence to get away from the perpetrator.
Reports from law enforcement indicate that visible red marks could in fact be seen on the belly of the child involved, corroborating the mother’s retelling of events.
As a result of this incident, Jarod Michael Kennedy has been arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Child Abuse.
