OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Oceana Town Council members will assemble on Thursday evening for a meeting which will see discussion and voting with regard to a proposed water rate increase.
The increase in question was discussed during a mid-August Special Council meeting and would pertain to all customers of the municipally owned and operated water utility of the Town of Oceana in Wyoming County. City officials noted that the increase is a necessity which must be implemented so as to continue providing quality water service to area residents.
“The increase is necessary for the payment of system operations and debt service in order to ensure that continuous, safe and adequate water service is provided to all water customers,” read a statement.
Tuesday’s meeting will feature a discussion and vote on the proposed water rate increase, which will be heard in its first reading during the session.
Additional issues which will see discussion and/or consideration during the meeting include a proposed waste water plant upgrade, potential correspondence with the West Virginia Division of Highways regarding white lines on Route 10, and more.
