HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested on felony drug charges Monday evening following a brief standoff with police in the Altizer neighborhood of Huntington, according to Police Chief Carl Colder.
Huntington Police patrol officers responded at approximately 6:30 p.m., Monday to a residence on Lawson Court in Altizer. Reports were that there had been shots being fired during a domestic dispute. The officers made attempts at contacting the occupants, and the Police Department’s SWAT Team was deployed.
After a brief standoff with officers, the occupants exited the residence. No injuries were reported to any of the occupants.
A search warrant was executed at the residence, where officers recovered drugs and two firearms.
Zachary T. Miller, 32, of Huntington, was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and with intent to deliver and obstructing an officer.
Detectives are still investigating whether shots were actually fired during the initial incident.
More charges could result from the investigation and from evidence recovered at the scene, the chief said.
In a second unrelated incident late Monday, police are investigating a shooting event.
Patrol officers responded to a local hospital at approximately 11:10 p.m. Monday because a 23-year-old Huntington woman had sustained a gunshot wound. It is believed to be non life-threatening.

Immediately after the shooting, the three occupants in the vehicle drove to a local hospital. The shooting victim received medical treatment but the other two individuals fled before officers arrived.
