NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One person was killed and another was injured in a single-vehicle UTV crash early Monday morning in Nicholas County, according to the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:32 a.m. on July 20 along Old Nicholas Road (Nicholas County Route 13/00) in the Mount Nebo area.
According to the sheriff’s department, a 2023 Kawasaki side-by-side was traveling west on Route 13/00 when it left the roadway and struck an embankment. Authorities said both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
Steven E. Parsons, 50, of Mount Nebo, was pronounced dead after being transported to Summersville Regional Medical Center.
The second occupant, Dawnett Reba Bowman, 63, was also transported to Summersville Regional Medical Center, where she remains hospitalized.
The crash remains under investigation by Deputy D.M. Moore of the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department.
