KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 65-year-old Marmet woman died in a house fire Saturday night in Kanawha County, authorities said.
The fire was reported at a home on Lens Creek Road near Sutphin Drive on Feb. 7. Firefighters from the Marmet, Malden and Chesapeake fire departments responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews discovered the woman inside the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to examine the cause of the blaze. The fire has been ruled undetermined.
The victim’s body was transported to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and an autopsy.
