MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 29-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Mingo County, according to West Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred Sept. 14, 2026, on U.S. Route 119 at the intersection of Duncan Fork Road near Delbarton.
West Virginia State Police Sgt. T.G. Kania and Trooper J.T. Kitts responded to the scene.
One of the drivers, identified as Nicholas David Edwards, 29, of Delbarton, was transported by STAT EMS to Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky, where he was pronounced dead.
According to State Police, the Pike County Coroner advised that Edwards will be transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
The Mingo County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation.
Edwards’ next of kin has been notified.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available at this time.
