NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Nicholas County man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting Wednesday evening in Holcomb, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Troopers from the Summersville and Richwood detachments responded to a reported shooting on Cheyenne Drive at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.
During the initial investigation, troopers learned that two neighbors, Ross Adkins Jr., 31, of Richwood, and Nathan Facemire, 44, of Richwood, became involved in a dispute.
State Police said Facemire was fatally shot by Adkins during the confrontation.
Adkins was arrested without incident and charged with murder. He was transported to the Central Regional Jail pending arraignment.
The West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Team also responded and processed the scene.
Facemire’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation remains ongoing, and State Police said no further information is available at this time.
