FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A driver was seriously injured Thursday, May 14, after a single-vehicle crash in the Robson area of Fayette County, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the crash near the intersection of Coles Road and Deepwater Mountain Road. A preliminary investigation found that a white Honda Ridgeline traveled off the roadway and onto nearby railroad tracks.
Authorities said the vehicle struck and damaged railroad property and signage before overturning into a creek.
The driver became trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by emergency responders. The driver was later flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in the Charleston area for treatment because of the extent of the injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
