MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 68-year-old Delbarton man has been charged following a shooting Sunday in Mingo County, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Senior Trooper Ziegler responded to Logan Regional Medical Center on February 15 to investigate a report of an individual being treated for a gunshot wound.
During the investigation, troopers determined that Keith Harvey McCoy, 68, of Delbarton, allegedly shot Keith Allen Kinser, 33, also of Delbarton. The shooting occurred on Day Star Road.
Authorities said the victim is listed in stable condition.
The West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Team responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
McCoy was charged with one count of malicious wounding and one count of prohibited person with a firearm (habitual user).
He was arraigned at the Mingo County Magistrate’s Office and later released on bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
