FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A motor vehicle crash with serious injuries was reported Tuesday morning along Route 60 in the Victor area, according to Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen.
Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched during the morning hours of Feb. 3, 2026, to a crash on U.S. Route 60 near the Piggly Wiggly.
Upon arrival, deputies met emergency medical personnel at the scene, where they found a single vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a ditch and embankment.
The driver was found unresponsive inside the vehicle.
EMS personnel immediately began life-saving measures and transported the driver to a local hospital. Authorities said the driver was in critical and unstable condition at the time of transport.
Based on evidence observed at the scene, deputies believe the crash was caused by a medical episode suffered by the driver before the vehicle left the roadway.
