WAYNE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fort Gay man died in a house fire in Fort Gay, Wayne County, earlier this morning.
The fire occurred in the 2100 block of Mill Creek Road in Fort Gay around 8:15 A.M.
Firefighters with the Fort Gay Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire and discovered the victim, a 65-year-old male. The department then called the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate.
Investigators have ruled the cause of the fire as undetermined due to the severity of damage sustained to the home.
The victim has been sent to the WV Chief Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and autopsy.
