CROSS LANES, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Thursday, February 23, 2023, police were dispatched to a domestic dispute that allegedly occurred in the Cross Lanes area of Kanawha County, West Virginia. Prior to police arrival, dispatch advised that the female had left the residence with their son and was at a local hotel in Cross Lanes.
According to a criminal complaint, once police arrived, they spoke to the female who allowed officers to come inside to speak about the situation. Officers observed the female, who identified herself as Amanda G. Huffman, to be very jittery and unable to sit still.
She continued to move very spastically while sitting on the bed and then officers began asking her questions. While obtaining her general information, officers observed her trying to cover stuff up on the bed while she was sitting there.
Officers then observed a large piece of foil she had covered up, a rolled marijuana “blunt” by her feet on the bed, and a broken glass pipe that appeared to have been smoked already. Officers stated that the pipe appeared to be a methamphetamine pipe and subsequently detained the female without incident.
Officers also found multiple cigarillo packets and straws within reach of the child. Ms.
Huffman’s four-year-old child was sitting on the bed while Ms. Hufman was sitting there upon the arrival of the police.
While at the hotel room which was in Ms. Huffman’s name, there was a drawer that was cracked out beside the bed that had money, cigarillo wrappers, a marijuana grinder, a small round clear plastic case with an unknown white substance, and a vibrator.
At the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters, officers field tested the two clear rocks into two separate containers which showed positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl at 2 grams.
Huffman was charged with Child Neglect and Unlawful Manufacture, Delivery, Transport Into State, or Possession of Fentanyl. She is currently at the South Central Regional Jail on a $1,500 bond.
