PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Parkersburg man is facing a felony charge after allegedly attacking his girlfriend during an argument outside a Sheetz gas station.
According to authorities, the incident occurred in the parking lot of the Sheetz located at 1102 7th Street in Wood County. Witnesses told police they saw the suspect, identified as Paul Cumberledge, grab the victim—his live-in girlfriend, Jonah Cochran—by the throat. The assault reportedly left visible redness and swelling on the victim’s neck.
Two witnesses, both customers at the gas station, confirmed seeing the attack.
Sgt. S.A. Semones of the Parkersburg Police Department arrested Cumberledge for a felony strangulation.
