PAX, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Town of Pax will hold a public hearing before the final vote on a proposed ordinance that would increase water rates for local customers.
The ordinance, titled “Ordinance Amending and Re-Enacting the Rates and Charges for Water Service For Customers of the Municipal Water Utility of the Town of Pax, Fayette County, West Virginia,”outlines a 40% increase in water rates.

Under the proposed changes, residential customers would pay $25.56 per 1,000 gallons, with a minimum monthly charge of $51.12 for the first 2,000 gallons.
The final vote on the ordinance will take place in the Council Chambers at the Pax Town Hall, 37 School Street, on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
Residents are invited to attend and provide input during the hearing.
