MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)– The Grassroots District and Camp Creek State Park in Mercer County showcase art and blooming flowers at the beginning of August.
Concerts and painting events occur in the Grassroots District, located on Mercer Street, and at Camp Creek State Park in Camp Creek, WV.
The kickoff event happens on Friday, August 6, starting at 5:00 pm at The RiffRaff Art Boutique located at 869 Mercer Street. The community can meet and greet with featured artists at the boutique. Attendees have the option to explore the stores around the area and enjoy refreshments.
From 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, a special concert featuring Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road with Lilly Comer is performing. This concert is open and free to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Another free concert celebrating Camp Creek State Park is scheduled for Saturday, August 7, at 7:00 pm, with Grace Campbell and 34Adonai performing at the Camp Creek Amphitheater.
Other events going on through the week of August 8-15 are a guided photo hike, picnic in the park featuring food from Bucha Brewhouse & Bistro, guided mushroom walk, guided Plein air painting experience, and poetry night. The Peak of the Bloom wraps up with a finale celebration in The Grassroots District on Saturday, August 14 at 11:00 am.
