FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man allegedly walked out of a Fayetteville Lowe’s with a nearly $330 vacuum after his payment card was declined multiple times, according to a police complaint.
Fayetteville police identified the man as Rick Allen Pyatt while reviewing a shoplifting report provided by the store’s asset protection and safety manager on September 22.
According to the complaint, Pyatt entered the Lowe’s at 46 Fayette Town Center Road on July 1 and had an employee unlock a Shark PowerPro cordless stick vacuum.
Pyatt then took the vacuum to a cashier, but his card was declined multiple times. The cashier cleared the transaction and directed him to the customer service desk to complete the purchase, police said.
Instead, Pyatt allegedly passed all points of sale and left through the main entrance without paying. The complaint states he placed the vacuum in his vehicle and drove away.
The vacuum was valued at $329.99.
