WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County apartment unit suffered thousands of dollars in damage after maintenance workers reportedly discovered two men inside the vacant residence allegedly inhaling chemical fumes and surrounded by drug paraphernalia.
According to a report, officers were contacted on May 12, 2026, by management at Oceana Apartments regarding a breaking and entering complaint at an unoccupied apartment unit.
When police arrived, they spoke with a maintenance worker who said he and another employee were checking the apartment after receiving reports someone may have broken in.
The worker told officers they opened the apartment door and found two men sitting on a bed in the living room area. According to the complaint, the men were allegedly burning a chemical substance on aluminum foil and inhaling the fumes through a straw.

Officers entered the apartment and observed extensive damage throughout the unit. Police said the apartment door lock appeared to have been pried open. Inside, investigators reportedly found syringes and burnt aluminum foil scattered throughout the residence.
Authorities also discovered burn damage to the floor after a fire had allegedly been started in a pan inside the living room.
