CAIRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities were called to the scene of a fire on Friday after a porta-potty was set ablaze.
The Cairo Fire-EMS Department reports that, on the night of Friday, July 12, 2024, the department was called to the Goose Creek Road area at the intersection of Route 50.
The scene saw response from Ambulance 27 and Engine 21, arrived at the site of the situation to address an apparent brush fire.
Upon arrival at the scene of the fire, responders discovered that the brush fire had resulted from a successful attempt to set fire to a porta-potty in the area.
Responding crews were able to successfully extinguish the fire and no injuries or fatalities were reported as part of the incident.
The Ritchie County Sheriff’s Office is reportedly investigating the origin of the fire at the time of writing.
