A power outage in Beckley on Sunday has temporarily closed Walmart and affected several other businesses in the area.
According to Appalachian Power, 65 customers are without electricity in the area between Ragland Road and McCulloch Drive. Crews are currently assessing the outage, and power is estimated to be restored by 4 p.m. Sunday.
Walmart is temporarily turning away customers until electricity is restored.
The outage has also impacted traffic signals in the area. Motorists are urged to use caution and treat any non-functioning traffic signal as a four-way stop until power is restored.
