Oak Hill 3, Summers County 2
Oak Hill – The Red Devils only collected two hits, but scored enough runs for a 3-2 win over Summers County in the championship game of the Oak Hill Wooden Bat Tournament.
Cole Legg and Bailey Bess had an RBI for Oak Hill, while Jayden McClain and Gabe Truman combined for 10 strikeouts in a game shortened to five innings due to tournament time limits.
Jake Boone had two hits and an RBI for the Bobcats and Robey Brown had a double. Ryan Oliveros was the tough luck loser striking out seven over four innings of work.
Beckley 8, PikeView 1
Princeton – Beckley won its second game in a row in the Coppinger Tournament with an 8-1 win over PikeView.
Ari Payne allowed just four hits over six innings and struckout 11 to secure the win on the hill.
Jackson Gambrell and Ty Evans each had two hits and an RBI to lead the Flying Eagles. Isaiah Patterson, Blake Stratton had doubles and Blake Nixon hit a triple.
Zach Rose had an RBI for the Panthers.
Richwood 3, Liberty 2 (6 innings)
Oak Hill – Richwood built a three run lead and held off a late rally from Liberty to take a 3-2 win Saturday at the Oak Hill Wooden Bat Tournament.
Trae Trivolette had three hits and an RBI to lead the Lumberjacks. Trivolette also picked up the win on the mound by scattering six hits and striking out 11 batters.
Isaac Williams and Talan McGraw each had an RBI for the Raiders.
Summers County 11, Richwood 0 (5 innings)
Oak Hill – Jake Boone and Brandan Isaac combined on a two-hit shutout to beat Richwood 11-0 in five innings at the Oak Hill Wooden Bat Tournament
Boone also had two hits and three RBI, while Colton Jones hit a double, a single and had two RBI to lead the Bobcats. Ben Lane and Ryan Oliveros added two hits apiece.
Summers had 12 stolen bases in the win.
Jefferson 13, Greenbrier East 3
The Cougars scored in six of the seven innings and rolled past the Spartans 13-3 Saturday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
Ryan Hefner had a triple and an RBI for Jefferson, while Cole Lewis and Riley Morgan had two RBI apiece.
Peyton DeHaven had a triple for East and Darris Boswell had an RBI.
Fairmont Senior 11, Shady Spring 1 (5 innings)
The Polar Bears scored seven runs in the fourth inning on its way to an 11-1 win over Shady Spring in five innings.
The Tigers were held to three hits on the day with Cam Manns collecting two and driving in the lone Shady run.
Brody Whitehair had a home run and three RBI to lead Fairmont. Gunner Riley and Tyler Veltri each had a double and two RBI.
Hayden Jones baffled the Tigers on the mound for the win.
