Nicholas County 11, Beckley 5
Summersville – The home-standing Grizzlies exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to beat Beckley 11-5 Tuesday.
Trailing 5-2, Ira Mylott jump-started the comeback with a three-run blast over the left field fence.
Mylott ended the day with four hits in four trips to the dish and had five RBI.
Grayson Kesterson added two hits and two RBI, while Caleb Burns, Cole Brown and Coleton Hellums each had two hits. Caleb Jarvis had a double and scored twice for Grizzlies (14-3).
Lucas Milam came on to pitch in the second inning to shut the door on the Flying Eagles, allowing only one run and three hits, while striking out seven.
Maddex Sims, Blake Nixon and I Lewis had doubles for Beckley (11-8). Ty Evans had two hits and two RBI.
Shady Spring 15, Liberty 5 (6 innings)
Trailing 5-4 after three innings, Shady Spring scored 11 runs over the next three frames to beat county rival Liberty, 15-5.
Glenville State commit Jake Meadows had four hits and six RBI, while Brody Seabolt smacked a home run and had drove in two runs for the Tigers (9-14).
Aiden Calvert recorded a double, a single and had two RBI. Gavin Davis and Kaiden Helmer had three hits each with Helmer driving in two runs and Davis one.
Landon Hall and Talan McGraw had three hist each for Liberty (6-10). Isaac Williams and Logan Ellis had two hits.
Ellis had two RBI, while Hall, Williams and Riley Marty had one RBI each.
Oak Hill 17, Bluefield 2
Bluefield – Oak Hill (10-11) pounded out 19 hits and rolled past Bluefield 17-2 Tuesday.
Hunter Elswick had four hits and four RBI to lead the Red Devil onslaught. Jayden McClain had two doubles, a single and four RBI, while Hunter Elswick had four hits and also had four RBI.
Owen Grose smacked a triple and drove in two runs and Connor Smith added three hits and three RBI.
Trent Rider had three hist and picked up the win striking out 12 Beavers.
Davis Rockness had two hits and an RBI, while Bryson Redmond and Landon Crane each had a double for Bluefield.
Summers County 16, Greater Beckley 0
The Bobcats iced the game with 10 runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Crusaders 16-0 Tuesday.
Colten Jones had a home run, two doubles and three RBI to pace Summers County (16-4). Ben Lane had three hits, including a double and four RBI, while Jake Boone had two doubles and one RBI.
Ben Bragg and Grady Allen also had doubles for the Bobcats.
Eli Gunter had three hits for Greater Beckley.
Westside 18, Van 4 (5 innings)
Van – Westside blistered the ball, blasting Van 18-4 Tuesday at Van.
Kadien Vance led the charge with three hits and two RBIs while Bryson Blankenship added a trio of RBIs.
Blankenship picked up the win, striking out seven in five innings.
