Oak Hill 9, Shady Spring 7
Oak Hill – Oak Hill erupted for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, claiming a 9-7 win over Shady Spring in Oak Hill Wednesday.
Hunter Elswick drove in a pair of runs for the Red Devils while Connor Smith added two more hits and RBIs.
Brody Seabolt managed two of Shady’s four hits in the loss.
PikeView 11, Bluefield 1
Gardner – PikeView struck quickly, putting up eight runs in the first inning of an 11-1 victory over sectional foe Bluefield Wednesday in Gardner.
London Wyatt led the charge with three hits and RBIs at the top of the lineup while Austin Bennett added a trio of RBIs as well.
Jared Vestal pitched all five innings for PikeView in the win.
Wyoming East 4, Summers County 1
New Richmond – Miken Smyth and Zach Hunt stifled the Summers County offense Wednesday, claiming a 4-1 victory for Wyoming East in New Richmond.
The Warriors held Summers to just two hits in the win, cranking out eight of their own.
Gage Cooper drove in a pair of runs for the Warriors while Ryan Mills collected a pair of hits. Smyth earned the win on the mound.
Independence 5, Nicholas County 1
Summersville – Independence’s offense erupted late, claiming a 5-1 victory at Nicholas County.
Cole Cunningham notched a pair of doubles and RBIs in the win while Reid Warden went the distance on the mound, striking out eight batters in the win.
Nicholas managed four hits as well in the loss, none for extra bases.
