Summers County 9, Wyoming East 8
Hinton – Summers County rallied in the bottom of the seventh to take a 9-8 win over Wyoming East in a wild back-and-forth affair on Senior Night.
The Warriors took an 8-7 lead in the top of the seventh inning on a two-run homer from Zach Hunt before Summers answered in the bottom of the frame.
Robey Brown walked to open the at-bat for the Bobcats prior to senior Ben Lane hitting a triple to tie the game. East elected to walk the bases loaded to set up a force at any base, but Colten Jones was up to the challenge. Jones’ single scored Lane with the game-winner, moving the Summers County reco5rd to 14-4.
James Monroe 12, Greenbrier West 3
Lindside – James Monroe broke open the game with six runs in the sixth inning to defeat Greenbrier West 12-3 Thursday night.
Peyton Gardinier struck-out 11 and allowed only three runs to get the win, while hitting a double and driving in one run at the dish.
Hunter Boggess and J Feamster had two hits each on the night for the Mavs.
James Monroe plays Beckley Friday night at Bowen Field for the championship of the 50th annual Allen D. Coppinger Tournament.
Liberty 7, Richwood 1
Liberty took the lead in the bottom of the first inning and went on to defeat Richwood 7-1 Thursday on Senior Night in Glen Daniel.
Talan McGraw allowed just one run on five hits, while fanning 10 Lumberjacks to get the win.
Brayden Keith had three hits, including a double and one RBI, while Colton Tolliver and Isaac Williams each had two hits and one RBI for the Raiders.
Landon Hall had a double and knocked in one run as well.
Jacob Jantuah had two hist and an RBI for Richwood.
PikeView 14, Princeton 10
Bluefield – PikeView scored 11 runs in the first two innings and held off a Princeton rally to take a 14-10 win in the fifth-place game of 50th Annual Allen D. Coppinger Tournament played at Bowen Field.
Christian Walters had a triple, a single and four RBI to pace the Panthers, while Zach Rose and Jared Vestal each had a double and one RBI.
Landon Wyatt smacked a triple and Deuce Rompon had two hits.
Zach Jenkins had two hits and two RBI for the Tigers. Brody Combs, John David Meadows and Deegan Walters all had two hits, while Landon Dillon had two RBI.
