Greenbrier East 16, James Monroe 8
Lindside – Greenbrier capitalized on six James Monroe errors to defeat the Mavericks 16-8 Monday in Lindside.
Isiah Brooks led the way for East, driving in three runs. Henry Goodwin piked up the win on the mound for East with six strikeouts in six innings.
East improves to 7-6 and will travel to Jefferson on Thursday.
Wyoming East 13, Westside 9 (8 innings)
Clearfork – Wyoming East rallied from three separate deficits Monday to defeat county foe Westside 13-9 in extra innings in Clearfork.
Tanner Whitten led the Warriors at the plate going 4 for 5 and scoring three runs. No. 3 hitter Jacob Howard, who drew three walks, made of his two at-bats pay off with a home run.
Kaiden Vance led Westside, going 2 for 4 with two RBI in the loss.
East will host Independence on Tuesday while Westside will travel to Tug Valley on Wednesday.
